Blue Water Cafe Website

Here at LBI Foodies, we follow the theory of “you can’t have enough of a good thing.” This works well and validates the amount of food we consume as part of our “job” (much better than our last job “accountant”). We were glad to find out that one of our favorite restaurant owners on the island also followed this mantra. When the Stefano’s family of restaurants decided to open Blue Water Cafe, it was like our favorite movie character just cloned itself (no not Michael Keaton). Blue Water Cafe is the casual bistro counterpart of Stefanos. It is the Brad Pitt to Stefano’s George Clooney…plenty of class without the fancy clothes.

There are tables indoors here but I always opt to dine outside, as do many other patrons, turning the place into a fun and friendly patio party every time I go. The menu is broad, serving up practically anything from crab cakes to pizzas.
Speaking of crab cakes, order one on a sandwich and with a bowl of Stefano’s 2009 first place New England clam chowda…it is our go to meal here and never disappoints.

For dessert, Blue Water serves up top notch gelato, which is Italian for “order it or you will kick yourself”…ok I made that up but don’t look for sympathy here if you pass on it!

Snag a table outside around dusk and prepare for “the show” (island speak for sunset). It will turn even the least smooth guy into captain romance.

Blue Water Cafe serves the most “abundant” Sunday brunch we’ve had on the island. The French Toast was amazing! I agree the outside seating is the best for enjoying the bay breeze and sunshine.

  2. Blue Water is one of our favorite LBI restaurants – we love the crab cake sandwich, with old bay flavored fries. Yesterday we stopped in on our way home for a late lunch and a glass of wine (BYOB). My wife, a great cook, knows her crab cakes and pointed out the concentration of jumbo lump – great value. Hungry add the chowda, and or, save room for the Gelato. Bravo Stefano!

Blue Water Cafe is one of the best places to eat on the island-for lunch you just have to try their lobster roll, with huge chunks of lobster and old bay friend. For dinner-it’s the Absolut Seafood…luscious seafood tossed with penne in a blush vodka sauce…delicious! Oh how can I forget breakfast…the cinnamon roll french toast is where it’s at!

Finally tried Blue Water Cafe. Food was excellent. Manhattan Clam Chowder had plentiful tender clams. Salads were just the right balance.

Blue Water is one of my regular dining places since it opened. Light yet filling is the Marinated Skirt Steak Salad!
