How are the restaurants categorized?
Restaurants are categorized in a few different ways on the site. In the top navigation, restaurants are sorted by location on LBI. The left to right navigation runs from the islands southern most towns (Beach Haven/Holgate) to the northern most town (Barnegat Light). In addition we have a separate category for restaurants just off the island in nearby towns. This allows users to quickly find restaurants wherever they are. In addition all locations are also broken down into the following subcategories: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner (BYOB & Reservations) and Ice Cream for user convenience. We also have all restaurants categorized by a number of different cuisines and dining experiences. Some of these include dining with a water or sunset view, seafood and restaurants that are open all year.
How do I write reviews for restaurants?
Writing a review for a restaurant is very simple! On the bottom of each restaurant page is a form where you can enter your own review or comments. Each comment is sent for review and approval by our site moderators and if approved, is posted to the restaurant page.
Why do some restaurants have more information than others?
Restaurants with their menus, logos, directions and links to their Facebook pages and websites have signed up for our upgraded listing services. If you are a restaurant owner and would like to inquire about our upgraded listing services, please click here.
Do I need to be registered for LBI Foodies mailing list, Facebook page or Twitter account to review restaurants?
No. Any visitors to the site may review a restaurant without signing up as an LBI Foodie.
Why is there a rating system for reviews?
We allow users to rate our user’s reviews to moderate the quality of our user’s reviews from 1 (low quality review) to 5 (high quality review). If there is a review that many users do not agree with, they will generally be rated lower.
